Dear Covid-19,

Today as I was talking to a friend, she asked my opinion about what’s going on around us, I shook my head and said: “Yeah, weird times.” My friend was upset that I had shrugged off the serious situation and called it weird. She told me that everything was uncertain and scary, and all I could say was “weird times.” I apologized and acknowledged that I was being insensitive and joking about a frightening situation. It got me thinking about how we(humans) cope with difficult things and you(virus).
I have many friends and family members that live overseas, and it seems like for the first time in my life, we are all suffering together against a common fear.- you. You have taken over our world, and many people will suffer because you are a disgusting piece of shit. Hearing about you and your shenanigans for about a month now has made me realize many things.

Some of them are:

Fear is a useless emotion. According to Rudyard Kipling, “Of all the liars in the world, sometimes the worst are our own fears.” So I am no more afraid of you.

You(virus) are here all around us. There is only one thing to do- listen to the experts and abide by the limits that they have prescribed.

Social distancing shouldn’t be isolating and cause more anxiety. I will reach out to old…
