“Just living is not enough, one must have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower.”
The Faces of Quarantine-One Virus Many Faces: Regina Singh
“You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.” — Maya Angelou
I spent the last few weeks trying to grapple with this global pandemic. This virus has threatened lives and caused tremendous havoc worldwide- medically, emotionally, mentally and economically.
After my initial response of fear, anxiety, and anger subsided, I woke up to the realization that I needed to provide gratitude to so many people. I am so grateful for the health and city professionals that are working around the clock, the educators that are being innovative, proactive, and creative in their teaching methods, and, most importantly I want to support the small local businesses that are hurting tremendously right now
Though we can’t control what’s happening around us — what we can do is not allow fear and anxiety to control our wellbeing and our mindset. We need to become more purposeful and intentionally uplift ourselves and others so that together we all stay in a state of gratitude, calm, and positivity.
