The Faces of Quarantine-One Virus Many Faces

My name is Kiron Shankar Mukherjee, and I live in Kolkata, India. I am feeling anxious and worried because we Indians still don’t know the scale of disaster caused by COVID19. In a country where public health facilities are far from satisfactory, I don’t understand how the country will cope if the virus starts spreading exponentially within our communities. I am worried because a vast population is still in denial and do not realize the malignant nature of the virus, due to the lack of education among the masses. Countries like India cannot ignore the public healthcare system anymore. Presently the system is in a shambles and is not in a position to face a crisis of this magnitude.
But I am also hopeful because the central and state governments have buried their differences and are working together to fight this pandemic.

Since I am used to working from home, being quarantined doesn’t make much of a difference. I miss my evening walks and my visits to the market.However, I am enjoying quality time with my daughter, which gives me so much joy.

As a community, we can do a little more by behaving more responsibly. Some educated people living…
