The Faces of Quarantine-One Virus Many Faces

Nancy Klann, a writer from Southern California pens her thoughts during this unusual time.

I do understand that this is just the beginning, and I find that up until now my attitude has been “keep calm and quarantine on.” My husband and I are not in professions where we have to put ourselves in jeopardy, so staying home is the only alternative. I have to have a project going, so I took this opportunity to create a gown out of recycled foil from the neck of wine bottles and I also used Keurig k-cup pods. That makes it a pleasure instead of a burden. (It’s still not complete but below is a picture)

An hour-long trip to the grocery store to stock up left me feeling vulnerable and worried about germs at every turn. It made me realize just how safe I feel when I’m at home. I don’t think enough is being done to help conquer this potential disaster because at this time (again, we’re very early in it) what we need are extreme measures, and EVERYBODY needs to take it seriously.

Not everyone is.

Not even the very people in Washington who are calling the shots, they are actually the weak link.
