The Faces of Quarantine-One Virus Many Faces: Katja Weber

I’m not feeling anxious at all. I’m just bored and tired of all the comments on social media, people are judging each other over small irrelevant things. I’m more worried about my friends in the refugee camps and feel ashamed and useless that I cant help them and that I am here in my comfortable house while they suffer.

I just came back after being in Chios, Greece, for four months. The significant change in my life is that I’m not working and am home with my children. I do feel that in Switzerland, people are following rules and so it’s going pretty well. But what I don’t understand is that in Switzerland the shops are open, but you have no access to the section with games, candles or stuff like that. I really dont feel it will make a big difference if we go to all parts of the store. …

Every day I videocall my friends in the refugee camps to make sure they are doing ok. I am so impressed by their positivity and resilience. They make me so proud, but it breaks my heart that I can’t be there to help them…
